1731 G. Silbermann, Reinhardtsgrimma, Germany
|
Software: | Hauptwerk VI |
Genre: | Classicism |
Description: | Joseph Haydn composed special music for flute works, apparently in close collaboration with his colleague at Esterhazy's court, the court chaplain and librarian P. Primitivus Niemecz, who made a name for himself with the production of automatic organ works.
These small works also sound great on historic German organs.
I chose the Reinhardtsgrimma set for four selected works from the 1772 Floehtenuhr bundle. The intimate character of the pieces suits this small but exquisite Silbermann instrument very well.
As I'm not a clock, I interpreted the pieces rather un-mechanically.
Seldomly heard, I guess, but excellent music ofcourse by the great Haydn.
