This charming piece is part of three variation cycles written by Georg Muffat, printed in his very important"Apparatus musico-organisticus" (1690). The opening "Aria" is followed by eight variations.
With this well fitting music I would like to welcome the release of this fine set. The organ of Weng represents the typical style of a bavarian baroque instrument with only one keyboard and small pedal. These instruments are rather colorful and versatile, fitting a great range of the music of that time.
