Composer: Vierne, Louis
Sample Producer: Sonus Paradisi
Sample Set: Caen - St. Etienne Cavaillé Coll
Software: Hauptwerk VII
Genre: Romantic
Description:
Aubade' (a morning love song sung by a departing lover to a sleeping woman), is the first piece of the fourth suite from the 'Pièces de Fantaisie' by Louis Vierne op.55. It uses the soft foundation stops with a solo Hautbois with Cor de nuit in the central section marked 'cantabile'.
The photo of Vierne in the video is from the 'Inauguration de la restauration des orgues de St.-Nicolas du Chardonnet, le 8 décembre 1927. Aux claviers Louis Vierne; à droite, de profil, Paul-Marie Koenig, le facteur d'orgues ayant restauré l'instrument'. (The inauguration of the restored organ in St. Nicholas of Chardonnet on the 8th December 1927. At the keyboards is Louis Vierne. To the right in profile is Paul-Marie Koenig, the organ builder who has restored the organ.)
Who the other four people are in the photo I do not know but the gentleman in the rear does not look too happy (head in hands). Is that Vierne's hat and stick hanging on the metal bracket on the far wall?

Apologies for the blurred vision at 1:50! The phonecam is trying to focus on busy feet...
