Description: | 00:00 I Legend
07:02 II Gregorian Rhapsody
16:44 III Pontifical March
The Triptych op. 141 is one of Karg-Elert's later works. The harmonies in the "Legend" sounds a little like early Gershwin. In the "Gregorian Rhapsody" he uses an own "gregorian" theme. Here we sometimes hear rather harsh music like Distler. The "Marche Pontificale" combines the greatest solemnity with grotesque passages.
The Steinmeyer organ in Ss. Corpus Christi offers the opportunity to realize all of the composer's register instructions exactly.
Because of the complexity of the fast passages, I only used the front channels. |
