Johann Gottfried Walther, the cousin of Johann Sebastian Bach, was a German music theorist, organist, composer and lexicographer. He studied with Johann Bernhard Bach and Johann Heinrich Buttstett. He is famous for his organ variations and arrangements of Italian concertos. Sadly enough many of his chorale preludes and variations aren't played very much, while the quality of these compositions is often very good. So, here an attempt to get some chorale variations into the spotlight.
