Wilhelm Rudnick was a German organist and church musician and lived in the Romantic era. His organ works are typical examples of that romantic period between (roughly) Mendelssohn and Reger.
I recorded one of his Abendmahls-Präludien which has the same tune as 'Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten'. These preludes were probably meant for services in which the Holy Supper was central. This could be music which accompanied the congregation to the table, but I'm not entirely sure.
I used the terrific sample set of the Walcker/Eule organ, Annaberg. The many soft stops give great possibilities to colour the sound in softer chorale preludes.
