Eberhard Friedrich Walcker was the most famous organ builder in Germany in the first half of the 19th century. From his lifetime we know only three instruments today, the youngest of them is the organ of Mimbach (1860). This instrument was recently restored in perfect manner. The sounding richness of this organ is overwhelming, some stops you never can hear on other instruments (e.g. Viola di Gamba, Floete). Although this organ owns only sixteen sounding stops, it is very convincing in the performance of a huge amount of the repertoire of the first half of the 19th century. I know the original instrument very well - so I like to remark that Thomas did a crazy good job with this sample set!
