The music was composed at Thomaskirche in Leipzig, William H. Harris considered his surroundings when composing the piece, as this Prelude clearly gives a nod to Johann Sebastian Bach, the Kapellmeister at Thomaskirche between 1723-1750.
This piece really shows off softer colors of the Salisbury Cathedral sample set. For the melody, I alternate between Great (Open Diapason 2, Stopped Diapason, and Claribel Flute) and the Solo (8 and 4ft Harmonic Flutes). For the accompaniment, I use the swell strings and the Lieblich Gedackt.
