Stephen J. Rohde (b. 1941) is a native of Wisconsin and was educated at Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His teachers included Donald Frazee, LaVahn Maesch, Gladys Brainer, John Harvey, Sr. Theophane Hytrek, and Adel Borouchoff. Rohde has held numerous organist and music director positions in Wisconsin.
