Ricercars for Advent & Christmas

Johann Kaspar Ferdinand Fischer was a German Baroque composer. Contemporaries, like Johann Sebastian Bach, ranked him as one of the best composers for keyboard of his day; however, partly due to the rarity of surviving copies of his music, his music is rarely heard today. Most of his music that survived is meant for organ and/or keyboard.

Fischer wrote some ricercars for different Feast Days. I chose the two appropriate for Advent and Christmas. The Sieber organ of Polná is very nice for this repertoire.
