Description: | Appropriate for today, now a sonata in F major, a good 7 minutes long, which has the song "Dicke rote Kerzen" as its theme. I already composed the song movement in 1996, the trio a few years ago. Movements 3 and 4 were composed within 2 days. It is a variation that is rhythmically interesting, with the melody hidden in the figure in the soprano. Then follows the main movement, a very broad fugue for 4 voices, which ends in the recapitulation with the full organ of the parish church in Kassel-Niederzwehren. The final repeated song movement is also played by the full organ - a very beautiful instrument .... and it is so inexpensive - the sample set is free - thanks to Dietrich von Binauralpipes! I can't wait for the sample set of the Schweimb organ (Salzgitter) to come out.
About the song itself: it is a children's song and therefore does not make great demands on the melody. The simplicity of the melody gives me, as a "processing" composer, all the freedom I could wish for, which can be seen and heard very well in the sweeping fugue.
The melody is by Detlev Jöcker, a singer who mostly interprets children's songs. The text is by Rolf Krenzer.
As always, I have recorded large parts live, removed mistakes, and corrected tempo, length of touch and ornamentation, so that I have to set my "hook" to MIDI.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas! |
