Description:
You all know that I love to explore and discover music and composers… today, with this rainy weather here in east of France, I decided to stay at home and travel virtually to the Netherlands, and experiment some ideas and explore some scores. The result of my work is this little concert in Ermelo.

We know that Nicolas Vallet was born in France at the end of XVIth century. His family moved to the Netherlands. He appears in documents in 1614 and published in Amsterdam in 1615 and 1616 two books for the lute. Some of his pieces have same musical subjects as Sweelinck’s works. Did he learned with the Master in Amsterdam ? I wanted to test some adaptations direct to the organ with few changes in the lute score. Please, let me know what do you think. I’m not always convinced. Some works could sound better with more changes. I was very surprised (and touched) by the Allemande and the variations on the Vater Unser, two very intense works. Any suggestion welcome !

The second composer is Theo Meurs. I just know he is organist. On his website you can find a lot of scores. He composed a lot of partitas on protestant chorals. His « thema and variations » will remain you certainly some Pachelbel’s variations. It’s a realy nice work.
