Description: | Ferdinand Hiller (1811 - 1885) was a German composer, conducter and music teacher. As a 10-year old boy he started to study with Johann Nepomuk Hummel in Weimar, making great progress as a pianist. From 1828 to 1836 he lived in Paris where he became a member of the cultural scene. Afterwards he lived in Leipzig, Roma, Dresden, Düsseldorf, and Cologne, where he died,
He composed several operas, an oratorio, piano concertos, four sinfonies, and this litte moderato for organ. Among his students we find Engelbert Humperdinck and Max Bruch. |
