Published under the name of Jules Faubert, these pieces were composed by Pierre Faubert. He used "Jules" as first name to avoid confusion with another Pierre Faubert, a well know poet living at the same time. He was born in Toulouse in 1828.
He also won the "Prix de Rome" and was from (around) 1857 organist on the great Cliquot organ in the church Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs in Paris where he was "maître de chapelle" too until around 1890.
I tried to correct some errors in the score.
