Description:
Oley's prelude to the chorale "Der Tag ist hin, mein Jesu bei mir bleiben" is to my ears ons of the most beautiful preludes Oley wrote. The pedal plays short bass notes and the right hand off beat chords.. The left hand plays the choral melody. Combines with the tonality of e minor the music expresses a sense of melancholy that fits the choral melody very well. The only thing to be regretted is that the piece is so short.
