1.Come, Creator God, Holy Spirit,
And visit the hearts of your people,
Fill them with grace, as only you can,
That they may be your new creation.

2. For you are called the Comforter,
the greatest gift of God most high,
a spiritual unction poured out on us,
and a living fountain of love and fire.

3. Illuminate our minds,
and set your love deep in our hearts;
You know the weakness of our flesh;
Keep and secure us through your strength and favor.

6. Teach us to know the Father well,
and Jesus Christ, his son,
That we may be filled with faith,
And understand the very thoughts of God.

Besuch' das Herz der Menschen dein,
Mit Gnaden sie füll', wie du weißt,
Daß dein Geschöpf vorhin sein.

2. Denn du bist der Tröster genannt,
Des Allerhöchsten Gabe theuer,
Ein' geistlich' Salb' an uns gewandt,
Ein lebend Brunn, Lieb' und Feuer.

3. Zünd' uns ein Licht an im Verstand,
Gib und in's Herz der Liebe Brunst,
Das schwach' Fleisch' in uns, dir bekannt,
Erhalt, fest' dein' Kräft' und Gunst.
