Swedish composer Johan-Magnus Sjöberg (b. 1953) was born in Östra Grevie and attended the municipal music school in Växjö. He received his Cantor’s Certificate in 1975 after which he attended the choir leader course at the Malmö College of Music. From 1978 until 2003 he was the church musician at St. Hans’s Church in Lund, and from 2003 until his retirement in 2021, he was organist and director of choirs at All Saints' Church in Lund. He also worked as a teacher at the Academy of Music in Malmö where he taught choral conducting (1995–2008) and church music (2002–08). Sjöberg has composed numerous works in many genres including four oratorios, several masses (including a Requiem mass), solo concerti, orchestral and chamber music (including three string quartets) and opera (Katarina och Martin en Passion), numerous solo, chamber, and choral works, and electroacoustic music.
