This piece seems quite appropriate as first Advent piece... Often it is played at a rather slow tempo, I often do that myself. This time I picked the more energetic approach. I stole the idea for the registration from Sietze de Vries, who often uses soft reeds as accompaniment against (in this case) a Sesquialter as cantus firmus. It gives a very nice and transparent sound. The beauty of this fantastic organ and the way it is sampled, certainly helps too.
