Karl Wolfrum (1856-1937) was born in Schwarzenbach am Wald, Bavaria. Stages of his life are Kulmbach (1870), Bamberg (1873), again Kulmbach (1877), Neustadt an der Aisch (1880), and Altdorf (1895). One of his teachers was J.G. Rheinberger. His brother was the composer and organist Philipp Wolfrum.
