William Wolstenholme was an English composer and organist who was born on October 10, 1865 and died on June 17, 1931. Born as a blind child, he showed early musical talent. Wolstenholme became organist of All Saints Church in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1887. He gained recognition for his organ compositions, including preludes, fugues and chorales. Despite his blindness, he toured successfully as a concert organist and left a musical legacy that is particularly valued for his contributions to English organ music.
