Description: | Sebastián Aguilera de Heredia ( 1561-1627) was a Spanish organist and composer , the greatest exponent of the Aragonese School, and a bridge between the figures of Antonio de Cabezón and Francisco Correa. of Arauxo .
On September 29, 1603, he took possession of his ration in the temple of El Salvador . A capitular agreement of La Seo of April 22, 1605 exempted Aguilera from residing in the choir during the canonical hours , due to his enormous recognition as an organist, and he was granted an extraordinary payment for one person to take charge of the twelve masses that his ration obliged him to say every month, the second organist Diego Gascón being responsible for this function .
Very much more on the composer is to be found in diverse sources on Wikipedia. |
