Thomas Åberg was born in Stockholm 1952 and works there as composer and music administrator. Most of his works are written for the organ and are characterized by their rhythmical joy, simplicity and humor. His music has been performed by organists at festivals throughout Europe and also in Japan and the USA. He also tours regularly as concert organist with his own works.

"Children of the Heavenly Father" dates from 2007, and is an arrangement of the well-known Swedish folk melody. The harmonization is quite lush, and would serve very nicely as a church prelude, which I'm sure is what the composer intended it to be.
