Description: | Toccata and Fugue in E minor, op.3 No.11
After the last few weeks have been rather quiet for me in terms of composition, I have now completed and recorded another work.
After a short toccata, which takes its name from the expansive pedal solo, comes the main work, a fugue for 5 voices.
When it becomes 5-part, the sound is usually very dense. And the denser the work, the slower the tempo, so that the listener can at least begin to follow the lively hustle and bustle. The fugue is relatively strict and is divided into 4 sections, each of which is fully registered in succession. The sections are labelled exposition, inversion, backwards, close and coda.
In the last section, we can once again enjoy the full baroque organ by Georg Christoph Sterzing in Erfurt Büßleben, whose admittedly somewhat harsh sound is well suited to the character of the composition.
I hope you enjoy listening to my composition. As always, the sheet music (with no less than 10 densely printed pages) is included.
The piece lasts a good 9 minutes .....
