Description:
Thomas Åberg was born in Stockholm 1952 and works there as composer and music administrator. Most of his works are written for the organ and are characterized by their rhythmical joy, simplicity and humor. His music has been performed by organists at festivals throughout Europe and also in Japan and the USA. He also tours regularly as concert organist with his own works.

You can learn more about him from his website - https://abergmusic.com/

"Two Swedenborg Pieces" date from 2004, and bear the dedication: "Written for Emmanuel Swedenborg's house organ (1 voice 4') at Skansen on Stockholm and premiered at a special event there on September 12, 2004."

For these performances, I've only flute stops at 4' pitch. "The Clock" is played upon the Spitsfluit 4' of the Hoofdwerk and "Time goes..." is played upon the Roerfluit 4' of the Rugwerk.

I enjoyed these two miniatures and found that they presented their own little technical challenges!

A photo of Thomas Åberg is attached below.

During the coming days, I will be uploading more of Åberg's music. These works vary greatly in style, dynamics and color, and will probably aid in expanding our minds as to what organ music can sound like. :-)
