Description:
The way I produce music is simply very, very complex .....
So now, after a few weeks of work, here is my op3 No. 12 - Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
Also after a long time, I used the beautiful Mascioni organ - built in 2016 - again. I love this sample set, the pipes respond quickly and everything sounds very direct. The trombone in the pedal - simply heavenly. Unfortunately, Mascioni probably built the organ too "baroque", so that the C#2 and all notes above d4 are missing in the pedal. And the manual is also limited in pitch. Well then, I made the missing notes sound by replacing them with octaves. The tempo of the toccata was originally much faster, but I have now reduced it considerably.

While the toccata is characterised by a great restlessness, which is softened in the middle section by a short andante, the fugue is in a lively, uneven time signature, which makes it seem almost dance-like. Towards the end, before the coda, the fugue wanders through the circle of fifths, with a sequence modulating upwards a fifth at a time, and pauses briefly on B minor, which lies a minor third below the tonic.

In the aforementioned coda, we hear the augmented theme in the pedal after a pedal point on the dominant - so pretty much everything that belongs to a well-formed fugue is there again.

Long story short - no point at all - have fun with my current composition!
