According to Wikipedia, a muse is a person who encourages or inspires another person to be creative. Once she's gone, the creativity is over. Well, I hope that my composition at the end shows that the muse has somehow returned ......
The song on which the composition is based is once again from the Lahrer Kommersbuch, which (I think I've already mentioned it several times) is a real treasure trove.
The melody of the song comes from the romantic pen of Justus Wilhelm Lyra and the lyrics from a certain Wilhelm Müller.
The structure of the piece is well known. A song movement for 4 voices introduces the very beautiful melody, in a very thinly registered trio we have a more polyphonic setting of the melody.
The main focus is on the fugue for 4 voices, which develops the melody in all its facets and in several attempts. From time to time more stops are heard, the conclusion of the fugue can then be heard with the full Noeske organ in Kassel Niederzwehren. The song movement, which was also played at the beginning, then forms the final point.
