Johann Christoph Oley (1738-1789) was a composer and organist living in central Germany.
Contrary to earlier assumptions, it is very unlikely that Oley could have met Bach, much less been his pupil; however, it can be assumed that he had contacts with the great composer's Leipzig circle.
