Description:
Johann Adam Hiller (1728-1804) was a German composer, conductor and writer on music. He was also a teacher who encouraged musical education for women. He took lessons from Gottfried August Homilius. Later on in his life he even became cantor at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, the same position as Johann Sebastian Bach.

These pieces go without a named composer in the journal. I suspect they are from Hiller himself, but this is only a supposition, there is no proof of it. The piece posted today is not bound to any specific chorale melody. It can be used as a not too difficult pre- inter- or postludium on any festive occasion. This piece can be played perfectly manualiter. However, I liked to play the bass notes with the pedal halfway the piece, so you can also hear the beautiful Posaun of this organ.
