Description: | Arnold Matthias Brunckhorst (ca. 1670/75 to 1725) had been working as an organist in Hildesheim since 1693, first at the church of St. Martini and then at St. Andreas from 1695 to 1697. In 1697 he was appointed organist of the town church in Celle. Finally, in 1720, he became court organist in Hanover, where he probably remained until his death.
Only one organ work, a Prelude in E minor, has survived under Brunckhorst's full name. Since a stylistic-critical study by Kollmannsperger, a prelude in G minor previously attributed to Nicolaus Bruhns, whose author is given as "Mons: Prunth." is regarded as a further work by Brunckhorst.
