choral overture and fugue "Vom Himmel hoch"

For Christmas 2023 I have asked Sietze for an improvisation which can frame my transcription of his beautiful variations on Martin Luther's Christmas tune "Vom Himmel hoch".

He sent me an audio file containing a festive french overture, presenting the first two melody lines in the discant, the last two lines in the double pedal.
The following lively fugue shows the c.f. in the bass.
