Originally written for Piano and Harmonium in four parts, my arrangement for organ transfers the bass parts of both piano and harmonium to the pedals. To maintain the original pitch, the top Gs are taken by the left hand. If you have a top G on your pedalboard this would not be necessary.
An original manuscript of the piece (N6.14) is available to view on the Association Jehan Alain website for a small fee. On the manuscript - itself a work of art! - Alain wrote 'No 14 Canon pour Piano et Harmonium joué chez Mademoiselle Aufant en 1922 ou 23'.
The piece is included in the Leduc publication 'Cinq Pièces Faciles pour Orgue ou Piano' under the title '5. Canon en mode dorien pour Piano et Harmonium'.
I'm using a Gambe 8 in the r.h. and Bourdons in l.h. and pedal.
