Theo Meurs (b. 1959) — Partita on “Es ist ein Ros entsprungen” (2016) for organ

Dutch organist and composer Theo Meurs (b. 1959) studied organ, church music, music theory, and music pedagogy at the Arnheim Conservatory. His organ teacher was Johan van Dommele. In 1978, Meurs became organist for the Dutch Reformed (Protestant) Church in Brummen. He also taught secondary school music for many years. Meurs has composed numerous organ works, focusing especially on partitas based on hymns from the Dutch hymn book.
