Daniel E. Gawthrop (b. 1949) — Prelude on “Psalm 42” (Microlude, Vol. 3, No. 4) (2020) for organ
American composer Daniel E. Gawthrop (b. 1949) is best known for his widely-performed choral music: hundreds of works ranging from full scale oratorios to short responses. In addition to his choral work, Gawthrop has also written much music for the organ and several orchestral works. He served for three years as Composer-in-Residence for the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. An early adopter of the self-publishing movement in music, most of his works are published by his own company, Dunstan House, which he established in 1991. Several CDs devoted entirely to his choral and organ music are available.
