Tecum Principium in die virtutis tuae

This is the third piece from the Six antiennes pour le Temps de Noel, op 48 of Marcel Dupré. The set was published in 1952.
Each one of the medidations is dedicated to one service of the christmas cycle. This one is for christmas (Pour la nativité). It is a calm cantabile using the voix céleste without the gamba as registration.

The text says:

Tecum principium in die virtutis tuae :
in splendoribus sanctorum, ex utero,

Dixit Dominus Domino meo :
Sede a dextris meis.

Donec ponam inimicos tuos
scabellum pedum tuorum.


In the day of thy power
shall the people offer thee free-will offerings
with an holy worship.
From the womb before the morning star
have I begotten thee.
ante luciferum genui te.
