Evelyn Stell (b. 1944) is a Scottish music historian, composer, and organist. Following her MA and BMus degrees, her doctoral thesis (University of Glasgow, 2000) was on ‘Sources of Scottish Instrumental Music, 1603–1707.’ From 2002 until 2013 she served on the Liturgy Commission of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. Andrews and Edinburgh as convener of the Music Advisory Group. A number of her collections of organ pieces have been published by Fagus-Music.com. In 1975 she became organist and then director of music at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Linlithgow.
