Preludes BWV 933 and 936

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) - his “Six Little Preludes” BWV 933 - 938 were among the first Bach music that I played on the organ - I didn't know any other music scores by Bach and nothing was freely available 50 yrs ago in the socialist state Romania. The pieces were part of my piano lessons, in an old edition by Carl Czerny, which I was just as reluctant to play as the exercises of his “School of Velocity”! It was quite different when I played them just for fun on the organ for the first time - I was about 13 years old. Our small organ in the village church of Freidorf, with its rather slow pneumatic action tracking, was hardly suitable for fast-paced playing, but offered an incredible variety of sounds, especially with the Prelude BWV 936, which was not as accessible to me with the piano - the interplay of the two upper voices and the accompanying bass is still a highlight today.
The small romantic village church organ of the old church in Querum in the sampling of Pipeloops is the other remarkable highlight!
