Louis Marie François Andlauer.
Born September 7, 1876 in Honfleur.
Died July 18, 1915 in Marœuil.
He came from a family of Alsatian organists and was the son of Auguste Andlauer (1845-1926, a student of Jacques-Nicolas Lemmens), who served as organist at Notre-Dame-des-Champs (Paris) from 1877.

Louis Andlauer won first prize for organ in 1901 in the classes of Alexandre Guilmant and Charles-Marie Widor. He wrote organ and harmonium pieces, three masses, a cantata, motets, and several songs.

Louis Andlauer worked as organist and music director at the Parisian church of Saint-Éloi.

From 1912 to 1914, he was deputy to Louis Vierne at the organ of Notre-Dame de Paris.

Louis Vierne dedicated the “Idylle mélancolique” from his 24 Pièces en Style Libre op. 31 (1913) to him.

During the First World War he was a non-commissioned officer in the 28th Régiment d'Infanterie Territoriale. He died on July 18, 1915 at the front near Marœuil (Pas-de-Calais).
