Six movements, each based on a text from the Psalms.
The Suite was dedicated to Ralph Downes and published by OUP in 1961.
Peter Hurford's skills as a Bach player and improvisor are well known and these movements give some insight into his individual harmonic style, his lively use of rhythm and his sense of humour!
The copy I have owned since 1978 (!) is signed by the composer. I cannot remember what the occasion was. Most probably a visit to St. Alban's Cathedral.
