Description:
Charles Pineau (1877-1958) was born in Avranches, Normandy and studied in Paris at the Ecole Niedermeyer, a specialist church music conservatoire, and later at the Schola Cantorum with Guilmant and d'Indy (he later taught organ there). Pineau became an organist and choirmaster at S'-Charles de Monceau in Paris. He seems to have focused on organ and church music in his compositional career, but also wrote piano and chamber music.

This piece Published in H. Delépine - Lyre du jeune organiste, Vol.1, No.5 (1924). Pièce couronnée au Concours de 1923.

He also wrote Quatre Pièces op 9 for organ and two pieces Op 5.
These are in Maîtres contemporains de l'orgue Vol 2.
