Franck of the month for August, part 1.
A comparison of two different sample sets…..St Omer, my trusted companion & the Vleugals organ in Chemnitz.
This is the version on the “real thing”, the Coca-Cola of French romantic instruments.
What impact do the two instruments have on performer & performance? What impact on you as listener? If indeed anyone listens to these performances.
Others more eloquent than I have written much about this glorious piece so I shall leave that to them. I shall only reflect that this was the first piece of Franck that I learnt (whilst still at school)…..I wonder what effect the intervening years have had on my performance!
