After my earlier upload (
https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/62756 Solemn Fughetta on the theme 'Credo In Unum Deum') from 'The Latin Organist' another fine piece, with some more beautiful colors of the Blackburn Cathedral instrument.
The piece, written by Francis Edward Gladstone, starts with a chorale prelude, with elegant intersections, followed by a fine fugue with the CF in the Pedal (soloed by the 8' Trumpet), building up to an impressive ending (full organ).
Francis Edward Gladstone (2 March 1845 – 6 September 1928) was an English organist.
He was a pupil of Samuel Sebastian Wesley at Winchester Cathedral. He earned his Mus.Doc. at Cambridge University.
