Exploration of the organ of St-Remberti

The next sample proposed by Augustine (AVO) is the organ of Sankt-Remberti in Bremen. It was achieved in 1994 and was build in a "baden-alsatian style". There were a lot of good organ builders in these provinces. In Alsace (east of France, near german border) such builders as Rinckenbach, Callinet, Stiehr, Chaxel are well known for the organs they build at the beginning and in the middle of the XIXth century. These organs are "transition-organs" with some stops inherited from XVIII° century (Rabiny, Dubois, Silbermann) and some new stops influenced by south Germany (flutes).
So I decided to play alsatian music (except the first piece).

2. 2:04 Louis FELTZ (1816-1891). Born in Alsace and organist at the organ of Langres Cathédrale. He composed a lot of organ music often dedicated to alsatian organists. I decided to record a serie of very short verses that he composed certainly around 1830-1840. These short pieces are typical from this time. Many organists were also teacher or town hall secretary and they needed such music for the offices. Jacques-Louis Battmann composed also a lot of pieces for these organists. I tried to record some specific registrations that are indicated in the scores (I play here on the orginal printed editions).

3. 18:07 Ernest BOHN (1914-2013) was teacher, organist and composer. He played a Sthier-Mockers organ in Saint-Louis church in La Robertsau (Strasbourg). I recroded 3 pieces from his "Petit livre d'orgue" : pavane, chant modal, Toccatina.

Augustine didn't record this organ He uses samples recorded by Dr. Michael LÜTGE.

The original sound is dry, I added some reverb.
