Advent and Christmas (72): "Kommst du nun, Jesu, vom Himmel herunter auf Erden" (BWV 650)

Getting “Advent’y” a little ahead of time (although it must be time for The First Evensong of Advent somewhere in the world!).
This beautiful piece nearly concludes my Schubler cycle & it is a gem of the repertoire.
People far more erudite than I will have written scholarly remarks so I will just make comment about registration!
I had intended to steal Wim Van Beek’s registration for the Green Monster, but I had been even more charmed by the Bovenwerk 2 ⅔’ & Hohlfluit combination. Unfortunately, when I recorded this version I pulled out the wrong 2’ on the pedal….principal rather than flute. Those of you who play this piece will know that if you get a take that is pretty accurate, registration be damned!
