Description:	In my opinion, one of the most beautiful chorale preludes for the wonderful Advent carol "Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme" (Awake, the voice is calling us) is that of Johann Gottfried Walther (1684-1748), who was a good friend of J. S. Bach. Walther composed two verses of contrasting character: I perceive the first verse as "Maestoso," while I would most accurately describe the second as "Allegro vivace."
