| Description: | Variations on "Let Our Gladness Have No End"
(Tune name: NARODIL SE KRISTUS PAN)
by Jonathan R. Mueller
Sheet music available at:

I think I can hear influences of Mueller's teacher, Charles Ore in these variations, particularly in the use of complex and changing rhythms.
This is a Czech Christmas carol, and dates back at least to the 15th century (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narodil_se_Kristus_Pán).
I made this recording back in December 2020 when I was still working as a church musician, and dealing with the challenges of being a "remote organist". Afterwards, I made a CD for my family, capturing all the recorded Advent/Christmas music I made that year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. |
