Eule organ Mercator-Hall Duisburg

| Software: | Hauptwerk VIII |

| Description: | Vierne's Arabesque played on the newly sampled Eule organ at Mercator Hall Duisburg. A great piece to introduce some of the labial solo voices.
At the beginning I use Harmonic Claribel 8, Harmonic Flute 4 from the Solo, and Hohlflute and Stopped Diapason from the Great. The left hand is dominated by the Viol d'orchestre, Pedal is with Bourdon 16 and Octav Dulciana.
The central section features soft 8ft labials from all manuals (Tibia from Solo, Keraulophon, Salicional and Lieblich Gedackt from the Swell, Clarabella, Dulciana, and Cor de Nuit from the Choir),
At the end, I use Hohlflute from the Great with some support by the Harmonic Claribel to allow for some swell effect. Left hand is Salicional and Vox Angelica from the Swell. A challenge was the pedal. The Bourdon 16 is quite massive, whereas the soft strings (Geigen, Dulciana) are too soft and stand in the swellbox (Vierne wants a separate pedal here). So I settled on the Open Metal 16 solo, which is actually a transmission from the Great.
As always, please ignore the mistakes. I am not a professional player. |
