Holloway, London, England, June 7th, 1870; d. Gorleston-on-Sea, June 17th, 1932.
Best known for his compositions for organ most of which continue in today's organ repetoire. Among his organ works are: "At Eventide", "Berceuse in G", "Chanson pastorale", "Concluding Voluntary in D minor", "Concluding Voluntary in G major" and "Festival Postlude in C".
"Introduction and Fugato in D Minor" was published in 1926 by Warren & Phillips. For a "small piece" it has a BIG impact, as the listener will immediately discover. It sounds very good on this organ! :-)
This work was also published as a piano solo.
The score is attached below, as well as a photo of Cuthbert Harris. Included as well are modern photos of St. Andrew's, Streatham, and of St. Leonard's, Streatham, two churches were Harris served as organist.
COMING SOON: "Scenes on the Downs" by Frederic H. Wood. This upload will finish off the complete group of Wood's unique and monumental four suites.
