| Description: | Jan Mulder was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He studied piano, organ as well as composition at the Rotterdam and Utrecht Conservatories. Since graduating in 1992, Jan Mulder composes music for his solo albums and concerts on a daily basis. His CD’s, recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
I didn't realize that there were so many other fine performances of Mulder's "improvisations" already posted here! Fortunately, I think I picked ones that do not already appear here... ;-)
In general terms, all of these pieces use a similar, uncompicated format.
This one, inspired by Psalm 25 (Unto thee, O Lord, will I lift up my soul; my God, I have put my trust in thee.) uses the Harmonic Flute as the solo stop.
I did these to try to show some of the colors of the Sauer - an organ that is somewhat "similar" in the sounds available - sort of a romantic terraced dynamics. |
