Description: | The second movement, "Andante," in the key of B-flat, his an appealing charm to it.
It is "orchestrally conceived," as it makes use of a number of solo colors, including "Swell reed" (played on the Swell Hautboy WITH Diapaons - open and stopped), "Clarinet," (played on the Solo), "Flute" (Great Clarabella), "Flute 4''. played on the Harmonic Flute 4' of the Choir.
The Great Diapason (the Second one) almost figure prominently in the movement, as does the Vox Angelica of the Swell.
You need to be able to push a lot of divisional pistons in this, since the changes are frequent and take place during the movement of the music, and not generall in the pauses.
This movement is a beautiful balance to the more severe external movements. |
