No. 5 - "Andantino", begins with a dark and haunting melody played on the Orchestral Oboe of the Solo. It is accompanied by the Choir Dulciana, which is NOT under expression. It was hard to get this one perfectly balanced, and I was never completely satisfied with effect.
Bridge calls for the "Swell Oboe," accompanied by the "Great or Choir," but I felt that Solo Oboe was more hypnotic...
The central section builds up and the melts away, with the solo now returning to the Oboe, but now in the tenor.
The conclusion uses a variety of strings and flutes, and once again, I did some "thumbing down" at the end to get the desired effect.
This is also a VERY orchestral piece in a dark F minor.
